Our client in Pittsburgh, PA is looking for an HR Assistant/Manager for a contract to hire opportunity. This opportunity is fully onsite, hours are 8:30AM-4:30PM. Business casual attire and free parking! Pay: $25-$28.   • Develop and manage all HR functions (entire life cycle of talent acquisition activities; on-boarding; succession and workforce planning; total compensation initiatives including benefits; employee relations; performance management; training and development; safety, Employee Manual review and maintenance, etc.). • Oversee the daily work of the department and handle all related administrative activities, including onboarding (ADP data entry, processing legally and other required credential verifications such as clearances and background checks, ID badges, etc.), file maintenance and proper documentation, and routine report generation and tracking (includes vacation, FMLA, sick time, etc.). • Provide support and guidance to leadership, colleagues and volunteers. Communicate and collaborate with supervisor, president and/or outside counsel and consultants to address sensitive or complex employee relations issues such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigations, security concerns, terminations, etc. • Maintain compliance and recommend best practices in accordance with federal, state, local employment laws and regulations. • Consulting with supervisor or outside attorney as necessary, complete and appropriately process all documentation or requests for confidential information in a timely manner and in compliance with procedures and legal requirements. This includes unemployment compensation, workers’ compensation, Social Security, court-orders, subpoenas, garnishments, etc. • Work with leadership and others to develop training programs for staff. Train new employees to use ADP time and attendance and time off modules, considering creative ways of delivering standardized, repeatable trainings such as these. • Suggest, plan, organize and support any activities or special events designed to enhance and increase employee morale, celebrations of success, community engagement, etc. • Develop relationships and contact lists of both internal and external sources that are able to assist callers or clients when a referral is necessary. • Cultivate professional and technical knowledge through reading, establishing personal networks, attending workshops, etc.   RequirementsYour background • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required; professional certifications such PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SCP considered a plus. • 5+ years of HR experience preferred. Experience in a NFP or community organization considered a plus. • Advanced-level user of Microsoft Office Suite and ADP required. Comfortable learning new software programs. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Act 33 and 34 clearances required. • Cultural awareness training, experience working with people of diverse backgrounds, skills and needs. • Comfortable wearing different hats, assuming different responsibilities and assisting others as the need arises.
