An air freight logistics specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the transportation and delivery of goods by air from the point of origin to the point of destination. An air freight logistics specialist works with various parties, such as suppliers, customers, carriers, customs agents, and airport staff, to ensure that the goods are shipped and received promptly, efficiently, and cost-effectively. An air freight logistics specialist also monitors and tracks the status and location of the goods, resolves any issues or problems that may arise during the process, and maintains accurate records and reports. To be a successful air freight logistics specialist, you need to meet the following basic requirements: • Work permit (required): You must have a valid work permit to work in the US. • Education (Bachelor's degree - minimum): You must have a bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field. • Knowledge of English – (excellent): You must have perfect written and spoken English skills, as you will communicate with various stakeholders in different countries and regions. • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel...): You must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel, as you will use them to create and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. • Experience working with documents: You must have experience working with various documents, such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills, certificates of origin, and customs declarations. • Communication skills: You must have excellent communication skills, as you will negotiate with carriers, customers, and suppliers, as well as provide updates and feedback to your team and management. • Ability to work in a team: You must be able to work effectively and cooperatively with your colleagues, as well as with external partners and clients. • Personal transport (the ability to get to the airport): You must have your transport, such as a car, as you will need to travel frequently to and from the airport. • Creativity: You must think creatively and solve various challenges and problems in air freight logistics. • Stress resistance: You must cope with stress and pressure, as you will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
